Cream Cheese Fig Muffins with Honey Cream Cheese Glaze


Who doesn’t love a good muffin? These fig filled muffins are amplified by a slightly sweet cream cheese glaze. A super decadent way to start your morning. Or maybe bring a basket over to your next brunch. They are super simple and you can make the glaze ahead of time if you want.

Fig muffins with and honey cream cheese glaze is the perfect breakfast item for your brunch. Creamy glaze on top of this fig filled muffin is a real treat!


ingredients

CREAM CHEESE HONEY GLAZE

  • 4 oz Philadelphia cream cheese

  • 1/2 c confectioners sugar, sifted

  • 1 Tbsp orange juice

  • 1 Tbsp honey

  • 3 Tbsp milk

MUFFINS

  • 2 c flour

  • 3/4 c unsalted butter

  • 1 c Philadelphia cream cheese

  • 3/4 c superfine sugar

  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten

  • 3/4 c dried figs, chopped

instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a deep 12-cup muffin pan.

  2. Melt the butter and let it cool. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together with a hand mixer, on a medium speed. Then add one egg at a time until well combined, and then stir in the melted butter.

  3. Mix the flour and chopped figs in a bowl. Then stir gently into the batter.

  4. Spoon into the muffin pan filling each pan about two-thirds full. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the tops become golden brown. Set the muffins aside to cool on a rack before drizzling the glaze on them.
