Crockpot BBQ Meatballs

ingredients

meatballs

  • 1 lb ground pork

  • 3/4 c panko

  • 1/2 c yellow onion, minced, or finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika

  • 1 Tbsp ketchup

  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce

  • 1 Tbsp parsley, chopped

  • salt

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

bbq sauce

  • 2 c ketchup

  • 1/4 c maple syrup

  • 1/2 c apple cider vinegar

  • 5 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 5 Tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 Tbsp black pepper

  • 1/2 Tbsp onion powder

  • 1/2 Tbsp ground mustard

  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp salt

instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl beat one egg. Then add the ground pork, panko, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, ketchup, worcestershire sauce, parsley, and salt.

  2. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated. I use my hands! Roll the meatball portions in your palm making them about 2 inches in diameter and set aside.

  3. In a large frying pan heat the olive oil. Add the meatballs in batches browning on all sides.

  4. Once the meatballs are doing frying you can add them to your crockpot, then prepare the bbq sauce. Or you can just use your favorite bbq sauce. Pour over about 2 cups!

  5. Set the crockpot on low for 4 hours.

bbq sauce

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to simmer for 15 minutes while stirring often. Pour this mixture over the meatballs in the crockpot. If you feel the sauce needs to thicken you can add 1 tbsp of cornstarch, after it has been simmering in the crockpot for the 4 hours.
