Car Emergency Kit

When I started taking Siena to the park I quickly learned what I needed to have on hand to survive the trip. Fast forward to us taking mommy and me trips to the farm, museums, and everything in between. I wanted to be ready for anything, that way I didn’t have to cut the fun short because we had to go back home. Or after running errands I could hop over to a last minute pool invite because I did have the supplies in the car.

Below is a list of some of my top picks for our car survival kit!

In The Car Kit

My two favorite caddies: Back Seat Car Caddy & Trunk Car Caddy

-   Swimsuit/Goggles/Sunscreen- So many times I am caught out on the run, and if I do not have to go 30 minutes out of my way to go back home, we can stop at a friends house to jump in the pool instead! Usually borrowing a towel

- Welly First Aid kits have everything from bandages to ointment , to tylenol type medication

-   Change of clothes: extra shorts, pants, underwear, sweatshirts and socks. Because accidents happen, mud puddles happen, and so do chillier than expected summers nights. Wet socks can ruin a kiddos day, and we all know there is always wet pool of something on the playground!

-   Sunscreen and bug spray are essential! As well as an antibiotic spray, because sometimes a cut or bug spray can burn and the band aid isn’t enough.

-    Piece of candy or lollipop. Sometimes after a bad fall the only way to the slow down the tears as you bandage things up. Or after a bee sting, I have found that sometimes a lollipop can take the mind off of the situation or help break the crying loop.

-   Ponchos: You may be thinking its not necessary because you have an umbrella. But God forbid you get stuck on the side of the road, and its raining the ponchos will help. Also, if you are at theme park these come in clutch in bad weather.

-   Ice packs: These you can activate when you need them.

-  Specifically an electrolyte beverage like Gatorade for an emergency. I know the plastic in a hot car is not ideal. But it’s for that one time when you are in a pinch or an emergency situation at a field or playground.

-    Organic Body Cleansing Wipes

-   Garbage Bag: We love these toss it bags!

-    On the go toilet seat covers
