Lately, I have been talking a lot about baby food and feeding on the blog.  As I am on this food journey with Siena I am trying to create dishes for both of us.

A year ago I sat in the hospital for my third morning. It was quiet, no one was around. I looked at the monitor, it was showing the same situation. I was having what I knew were small contractions, but I didn’t want to tell anyone. I will never forget the quiet, and I will never forget hearing God’s voice so clear. He told me he was going to take you and I would deliver you. However, everything would be okay. I knew it would be okay, I trust God’s promises.

Family dinner has always been close to my heart. This is why I developed "DishItGirl." I was cooking for family and friends.

There are so many milestones within the first year. Almost too many to keep track of. It can be both overwhelming and exciting for any new parent.

After a long stretch of dealing with postpartum depression, death in the family, and sickness I was craving joy. Are things suddenly perfect and in order? No, far from it.

Around Christmas things were dark. I struggled through extreme anxiety and this heaviness. At first, I thought that this was something all new moms felt.

Like many first-time moms, I had visions of her making a face at peas. While loving avocado and happily gobbling up her pears. I had a long list of recipes ready to try.

While we were in the NICU I would often think, this situation is not ideal for anyone. However, I wonder if God knew we needed this time.

All of the prayers put forth were felt everyday as she overcame each obstacle. Each week she made new strides.

The littlest dish is the newest addition to my kitchen. I have had thoughts about writing about my experience since it began.

The most important part is through all of this remember you are doing something wonderful just by having people get together. Opening up your home is opening up your heart.

 Any home renovation can be overwhelming, especially if you are not a natural DIY expert. I drool over the fixer uppers I see on HGTV and envy anyone who can even paint a wall successfully.
